Parenting is hard. The vision of how our family should function is not always in sync with reality. I am deeply empathetic to the difficulties parents face. Challenging behavior, problems at school, sibling rivalry, developmental delays. From terrible twos to dynamic teens, I have a deep understanding of children’s growth and development.

I know families. I have two vibrant teens less than two years apart. I also have five siblings and seventeen nieces and nephews. We are an imperfect, unique and close-knit bunch. We have lived through food allergies, learning differences, changing schools, moving across the country, moving back again.

I also know schools. I served as Director of Nursery Schools in both California and Connecticut over fifteen years. I have counseled, reassured and collaborated with hundreds of parents. Leading a school, like leading a family, takes a powerful set of skills. Caring, decisive, organized, intuitive, flexible and patient all come to mind. Each situation is as unique as each family.

I have been there. I’ve sought help, found solutions through trial and error, and over time I have seen powerful positive results for my own family. I love solving problems.
